News: Customer service is main focus for small businesses in 2013

attractive female phone operatorA new survey has revealed that improving customer service is the main priority for small businesses in 2013.

Social media is also a key focus, with 58% looking to improve their social media presence. The survey by Groupon also found that 28% were hoping to improve eCommerce processes and 17% were looking to mobile retail.

As another recent study found, many small businesses are planning to reduce their spend on traditional marketing methods. Over a quarter (26%) said they will cut back on local directory inclusions, and 24% will reduce local advertising such as billboards and posters.

Roy Blanga, managing director at Groupon UK says, “In the current economic environment, many consumers are not only hungry to get value for money; they want instant access to new experiences on the move and digital can provide this.”
