News: Optimistic Romney Publishes ‘Victory’ Website

The big news around the world this week was the US election, in which President Barack Obama was elected to four more years power in The White House, beating republican candidate Mitt Romney.

Romney had spent long months campaigning and preparing for the possibility that he would become President. In fact, a ‘victory’ website was even created, ready to go live if he was elected.

How do we know this? In a spectacular fail, Romney’s victory site went live this week, despite the fact he had lost to Obama. The site was removed within a few minutes of being spotted, but not before it caused some embarrassment.

The site referred to Romney as ‘President -elect’ and featured this misleading passage: “Romney is working closely with his transition team to put together his administration to ensure a smooth transition of power on January 20th, 2013 and get to work for the American people”.

Some have put the incident down to a publicity stunt. What do you think – stunt or genuine mistake? Leave us a comment to let us know.
