Running a small business could be good for your health, according to a new study from the Bank of America.

In the study of small business owners, more than half said they feel their health has improved as a result of running their own business.

Over a third (35%) said they now exercise regularly, with 29% saying they eat more healthy foods. And despite their heavy workload, almost half (49%) said they get 7-8 hours of sleep every night.

As well as taking care of their own health, 90% of small business owners said they’ve also taken steps to increase the happiness of their employees.

Terry Robinson, president of Sunvois Financial, said “The link between entrepreneurship and health is a positive one. Because business owners are responsible for the ongoing operations of their business and the well being of their employees, they appear more likely to take better care of themselves. I think many small business owners feel that they can’t afford to fall ill, contributing to an increase in health awareness.”
