The Ringlestone Inn is a very old restaurant steeped in History. The building was built in 1533 and was originally used as a hospice for monks, but became one of the early “ale houses” around 1615. It is now a restaurant and bar in Kent being consistently listed in good food guides. The client needed a website that was modern but still gave the viewer that historical feeling. He wanted a revamp of his previous website so it was quite easy to get content from the old site.
The designer and the client worked closely together to eliminate unnecessary information from the old site and to give the site that modern touch to the old gem. This was achieved by adding an old parchment background as an overlay to one of the Ringlestone Inn’s photos. The designer also made some extra ‘signage’ for the website’s menus to go along with the homely olden day feel.
The client was very happy with the final outcome and now has a user-friendly modern website that still keeps its personal touch. The site feels very approachable and warm to visit.
