Small businesses are just a few days away from 4G connections for both fixed and mobile internet use. There has been a buzz around 4G, which can be up to ten times faster than current broadband speeds, but many businesses worried the new networks would be out of their price range.
Pricing plans for individuals and small businesses were released yesterday by the UK’s first 4G provider, EE (previously known as Everything Everywhere, and incorporating existing networks Orange and T-Mobile). The plans are within the reach of most small businesses, with prices starting at £30 per month, per person for mobile plans, and £15 per month for fixed-line broadband. The UK’s first 4G service will launch next Tuesday, October 30th.
While a lot of excitement has been generated around 4G mobile networks and handsets, which will offer mobile speeds 5 times faster than 3G, small businesses will also benefit from fibre broadband which is faster than ever.
Business plans for EE’s fixed-line network start at £15 per month, and offer speeds up to 10 times faster than standard broadband. CEO of EEOlaf Swantee commented: “UK Businesses have shown considerable interest since our 4G launch intentions were announced. We hope that our new 4G plans and services will make us the most exciting digital communications business partner to work with in the UK.”
