A new report has revealed that small businesses are planning to recruit more staff in the next 12 months, compared to this time last year.
The study, by Peninsula Business Services, polled 2,600 businesses. It found that 72% are planning to hire new staff in this year, compared to 56% in 2013.
The study also found that 82% of businesses are more optimistic that their business will perform better this year.
Alan Price, Peninsula Business Services group director, said “Optimism is good, however, employers should continue to be cautious and continue to tightly control costs and monitor staff performance. Recruitment means bosses are looking to extend their business and clearly it seems to be a different picture compared to this time last year.”
